If the Honourable Chief Minister is up there, we are not far behind, too, was the message the Assam Cabinet conveyed to the world while enticing investors to Advantage Assam 2.0.
To make the upcoming event a grand success, and as part of its global outreach initiative, a high-level delegation from Assam led by Minister of Industry Bimal Borah organised a strategic roadshow in Dubai and engaged with prominent business leaders, investors, and entrepreneurs. Key initiatives such as the Jogighopa Multimodal Logistics Park were presented as game-changing projects positioning Assam as a pivotal logistics and trade hub for India’s North East region.
The Minister highlighted the ongoing efforts to improve inland waterways for efficient goods transportation and capitalize on Assam’s strategic location for trade links with neighbouring countries and Southeast Asia. The State’s diverse natural beauty and rich cultural heritage were also emphasized as key attractions for tourism development.

“Assam stands at the cusp of unprecedented growth, offering unique opportunities across sectors from traditional industries to cutting-edge technology,” said Borah.
Meanwhile, Indian Consul General to Dubai, Satish Kumar Sivan, noted the importance of Assam’s outreach as India-UAE trade is set to reach record highs this financial year, “UAE investments in India have already exceeded $18 billion, bolstered by an updated Bilateral Investment Treaty.”
Minister Borah then reached the United Kingdom where he met British Minister for Indo-Pacific Catherine West and discussed enhancing trade and cultural relations between Assam and the UK, emphasizing the Indian Government’s vision of a Viksit Assam—a thriving economic hub fuelled by innovation, sustainability, and global partnerships.
At an Investors Meet held at Hotel St. James Court, Buckingham Gate, Borah invited British investors to participate in the Advantage Assam 2.0 Summit, pointing out Assam’s unique position as the gateway to Southeast Asia.
Another ‘Team Assam’ led by Cabinet Minister Keshab Mahanta visited Thailand and held discussions with potential investors and key stakeholders from the tourism and hospitality sectors of Thailand. Mahanta on X said, “Had the pleasure of meeting with the potential investors and stakeholders of the Thailand Tourism and Hospitality sector at the Westin Hotel in Bangkok today and formally invited them to the Advantage Assam Summit 2.0 to be held in Guwahati on February 25 and 26.”

The Minister also visited the Vice Minister for Foreign Affairs H.E. Russ Jalichandra extended an invitation to participate in Advantage Assam 2.0 and requested to guide potential investors of big companies, industrial delegation to take part in Advantage Assam 2.0.
After Thailand, the Minister attended a series of meetings at Kuala Lumpur with the key Malaysian stakeholders from the Industries and Commerce sector.
He posted on X, “The first meeting was with investors of the palm oil sector of the country, the second was with the key leaders of all the Industries and Commerce sector of Malaysia, the third was with the representatives from the Malaysian tourism sector and the fourth was with the leaders of small and medium sector industries organisation (Samenta) wherein I elaborated upon huge investment potential in Assam and apprised them about the favourable initiatives taken by the Assam Government in association with the Government of India to encourage the potential investors.”

Meanwhile, PHE Minister Jayanta Mallah Baruah leading a high-profile Investors’ roadshow in Ahmedabad informed about Assam government’s business-friendly initiatives, including tailored incentives and policies designed to facilitate investment.
Minister of Health & Family Welfare, Ashok Kumar Singhal hosted Investors’ Roadshow in Bengaluru & Kolkata. Addressing the gathering of over 200 investors, business leaders, policymakers and industry experts, the minister in Bengaluru underscored Assam’s vision for growth, driven by transformative investments in infrastructure, manufacturing, renewable energy, and human resource development.
“Let us come together to unlock the potential of Assam and create a shared future of prosperity and innovation,” the Minister added.
