Mousumi, Rehena, Bikrom, Kristina, Arnamika, Nitumoni, Abhisekh, Pallabi, Hatem, Sreya, Pankaj, Princhi, Ankur, Laxi, Jogeswar were symbolic representation of the despondency of a figure of bulging unemployed people in the State cutting across age, caste, class, education, and gender divide just a couple of years back. On May 25, these were the same set of individuals who were representative of the 44,703 people who were offered their appointment letters by the Union Home Minister Amit Shah in a grand ceremony marking their entry into a Government workforce that is committed to work for the welfare of the people and growth of the State. Such is the expectation from these newly appointed people that no less than the Prime Minister addressed them through a video conference to work for the welfare of the State.
Selected through a transparent and fair system, they will fill up vacant posts in Grade III and Grade IV categories of the State Government.
This was also the biggest batch of appointees in the last two years of the Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma led-Government in the State. The total number employed thus far by this Government now stands at 86,782, just 13,000-odd short of the figure of 1 lakh as promised by Dr. Sarma prior to the polls.

He said that irrespective of the department, it is the responsibility of the youth to connect the poorest of the poor by working with integrity.

He appreciated the leadership of the Assam Chief Minister in areas like health, service, infrastructure, tribal welfare, law and order, etc.
