The Fekamari block of South Salmara-Mankachar was recently awarded ₹2 cr under the Aspirational Blocks Programme of NITI Aayog for outstanding stride in public health and grassroots development.
The block has achieved 100% Health Screening Coverage by covering every targeted individual screened for Hypertension and Diabetes thereby building a foundation for a healthier future. It has also nearly eliminated malnutrition. Nearly 99.52% Anganwadi Centres of the block are now equipped with safe drinking water, and have reinforced care for women and children.
