Parliamentary Affairs
Chief Minister Dr. Himanata Biswa Sarma laid the foundation stone for a multi-utility complex to be built at a cost of ₹ 14 crore on the residential premises of Assam Legislative Assembly.
It will have a mini hospital with ambulance service, departmental store, canteen, gym, etc, for convenience of residents and their guests. Also present on the occasion was Speaker of Assam Legislative Assembly Biswajit Daimary, Deputy Speaker Dr. Numal Momin, Cabinet Minister Pijush Hazarika, among others.
Agriculture Department
The 7th International Agri-Horticultural Show concluded at the College of Veterinary Science Playground in Khanapara, Guwahati on December 19. It was inaugurated by Chief Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma. Also present in the ceremony was Atul Bora, Minister of Agriculture, Animal Husbandry & Veterinary. More than 2 lakh people visited the fair. It was informally extended by a day to allow more people to visit the Fair. Representatives from Vietnam, Kenya and Ghana also visited the Fair. The theme of the fair this year was “Youth for Renaissance” in the Agri-Horticultural Sector.
Bodoland Territorial Region
The United People’s Party Liberal (UPPL)-led Bodo Territorial Region (BTC) completed two years of its Government of the Region on December 20. A rally was organised to mark the occasion where BTR CEM Pramod Boro along with several others took part. Later, the CEM paid floral tributes at the cemetery of Bodofa Upendra Nath Brahma in front of the BTC Assembly building at Thulungapuri in Kokrajhar. Chief Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma while congratulating the Council took to Twitter to applaud the development of the BTR.
