Industries & commerce and Public Enterprises
Ambassador of Thailand to India Pattarat Hontong met Assam Industry Minister Bimal Borah in Guwahati and discussed issues of trade and business. The Ambassador was accompanied by Chayanin Sriviseth First Secretary (Economic), Thanchanok Uthaiwan Second Secretary (Political), Vipavee Rangsimaporn and representatives of the Thai business community. Secretary Industries Dr. S Lakshmanan, Commissioner Oinam Saran Sing, and entrepreneur Abhijit Baruah were also present in the meeting.
Health Department
Chief Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma inaugurated a 100-bed Gohpur Subdivisional Civil Hospital in Biswanath district. Also present on the occasion were Health Minister Keshab Mahanta, P&RD Minister Ranjit Kumar Dass, Lok Tezpur Sabha MP Pallab Lochan Das, Gohpur MLA Utpal Bora, et al.
Panchayat & Rural Development
Chief Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma inaugurated the one-time financial assistance programme under the Indira Miri Universal Widow Pension Scheme (IMUWPS) on September 20. Under this scheme, one-time financial assistance of ₹ 25,000 has been provided to 12,000-odd widows in the State aged between 18 and 45 years. This one-time financial assistance is an additional amount in addition to the regular monthly pension. The event was attended by ministers Ranjit Kumar Dass, Ashok Singhal, Keshav Mahanta, et al.
