Marking yet another milestone in the Government of Assam’s mission to secure the future of the youths through employment, over 12,000 youth cleared Grade III and Grade IV of Assam Direct Recruitment Examinations (ADRE) 2025 the results of which were declared recently.
The success of 7,650 & 4604 appointments across 50 State Departments in Grade III & IV respectively is a testimony of the Government’s commitment towards transparent and merit-based recruitment.
Chief Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma, after the announcement of the results, posted in X, “Once again, we have delivered on our promise of clean, transparent, and merit-based recruitment. With the declaration of ADRE and other results today, Assam stands tall — setting a new benchmark for honesty, fairness, and opportunity in public appointments. We have also set a new record — delivering more than what we promised. We had pledged 1 lakh appointments, and today we are well on our way to achieving nearly 2 lakh appointments — a true testament to our commitment to the youth of Assam.”
“The people of Assam placed their trust in us to uphold fairness and transparency,” said Dr. Sarma. “With these results, we have proven that honesty and merit can triumph when governance is guided by purpose and integrity.”
Ajay Tewari, Additional Chief Secretary and Chairman of the State Level Recruitment Commission for Class III Posts, confirmed that vacancies in Agriculture Department (1,850) Panchayat and Rural Development with 873, and School Education with 581 will be filled up besides those existing in other departments.
More than 17 lakh candidates had appeared in the examination conducted across 28 districts in September 2025.
While the official announcement stirred headlines across the State, for many individual candidates, it was the culmination of years of perseverance, sacrifice, and quiet resilience.
Mahesweta Deb Choudhury, a successful candidate from Sribhumi while interacting with Asom Barta, said, “Patience and discipline are the true tutors. As the single child of her parents, she feels that through this appointment she will be able to contribute significantly to her family.
Speaking about the recruitment process, she added, “The process was transparent as we were provided with the scanned copies of our OMR sheets and I am happy with the overall process of conducting the examinations in a fair mode. This will help deserving candidates secure a job without worrying about partiality.”
Every sleepless night has brought me here, said Swarnali Barua of Jonai in Dhemaji, who had long dreamt of serving the Government. She told this newsletter that her father, a small businessman and her mother, a homemaker, made countless sacrifices to ensure she could pursue her education. When the ADRE results were declared, it vindicated their trust in Swarnali.
“I was trembling when I was checking the results. Then I saw my roll number. For a moment, everything stopped, the struggles, the doubts, the fatigue it all turned into tears of joy,” she said.
With minimal coaching and self-study under difficult circumstances, her success story symbolizes the resilience of rural Assam.
Swarnali extended her gratitude to Chief Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma for this. “It is because of his visionary efforts, now everyone in Assam irrespective of class or financial strata are getting Government job which was almost unbelievable a decade back.”
For Nikhil Medhi of Nalbari, this is not his victory rather it is his family’s redemption, “My parents being Government employees, my parents always wanted me to take up a Government job. I am happy that I could fulfil their dreams.”
Nikhil added that when he saw the result, he couldn’t believe it. “I was “refreshing” the browser thinking it could be a dream.”
His unwavering determination, even after failing earlier public examinations, makes Nikhil’s story deeply inspiring. He now hopes to contribute to public education reform through his new role.
Monica Gogoi feels Assam is lucky to have a Chief Minister like Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma who has given so much thought to secure the future of the youths, “Assam has given us a new sunrise. Now, only sincere and deserving candidates are getting employed.”
According to her, the ADRE result was the culmination of relentless effort and Government support. Her father owns a small business. Monica had faced scepticism from relatives who doubted her chances. But she refused to be deterred,
“When I finally saw my name, my first thought was gratitude to my parents, teachers and this fair system,” she said.
The Chief Minister said in his social media handle: “It fills my heart with immense joy when I receive such heart-warming accounts from the young ones who have cleared their exams and are one step closer to fulfilling their dreams. My biggest satisfaction is that these people will now serve their parents and society with honesty.”
Meanwhile, The State Level Police Recruitment Board declared the results of final examinations for 5,614 posts, including police constable (AB/UB), SI and other posts.
Extending his deepest gratitude, the Chief Executive Member of Karbi Anglong Tuliram Ronghan posted, “Many of our talented youths from Karbi Anglong have been selected in the recently declared results for Constable and other posts in Assam Police and allied departments, as well as in DME Nurse, Agni Veer (Indian Army) and other services.
