The Assam Cabinet has approved a new scheme where students studying in Class 10 will receive a monthly financial support of ₹300 to assist them in their academic journey up to the matriculation examination.
This financial assistance will be extended to students enrolled in schools under the SEBA, benefiting approximately 4.35 lakh students. The scheme aims to strengthen both the education and nutritional support for economically backward students.
The monthly financial aid will be disbursed from November 1, 2025, and will continue until the 2026 High School Leaving Certificate (HSLC) examination. The amount will be directly transferred to beneficiaries to enable them to purchase essential academic materials.
To be eligible for this scheme, students must fill out a form required for appearing in the HSLC examination. The application process will take place between September 1 and October 31 of this year.
